After a decade tutoring and teaching across Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan, I learned this: most students don’t need more pressure, they need a clearer path. I blend academic tutoring with executive function (EF) coaching to build simple systems for planning, time management, and follow-through.

I believe most kids who are struggling in school aren’t lazy; they just haven’t found the right support. My approach is focused on externalizing the chaos, finding what truly fits, and celebrating every student for who they are.
These four principles are the foundation of my approach:
Good-enough today beats perfect-someday. I guide students to shrink big tasks into small, repeatable steps so momentum replaces avoidance.
I coach students to use planners, shared calendars, and tiny time blocks (even 10–20 minutes), so that they turn “I’ll do it later” into “I did it already.”
Before we tackle any challenges, I get to know your child: their interests, personality, and strengths. When students feel seen and supported, they’re ready to learn.
Having taught in multiple countries and contexts, I bring flexible, real-world routines that work in busy, messy lives.

Transformations from students and families like yours:
"Jackie was warm, professional, and incredibly effective. She made Spanish engaging for my daughter, built confidence quickly, and provided clear session notes so we could see real progress; we appreciated how she gently wove in study strategies alongside content work and made her sessions feel truly supportive."

"We appreciated EF Tutors’ thoughtful, professional approach. Jackie listened carefully and offered useful strategies to help my daughter with organization and procrastination, and the team was responsive. I’d recommend them to families looking for attentive, student-centered executive function support."

When a student is feeling constantly overwhelmed, I listen and create micro-steps that lead to wins. Here’s my approach to turn it into a breakthrough:
I name the perfectionism and procrastination loop to lower the pressure. Stress is a signal, not a failure, and I work with students to recognize these signals and learn to work with them.
Together we break the monster task into tiny actions and time-block them: “find 3 sources,” “draft the intro,” and “submit the worksheet.” Even 10–20 minute windows count.
Each week we reflect: What worked? What didn’t? I tweak the plan and keep you in the loop, so progress stays steady without the shame spiral.
My goal is to help students replace perfectionism and procrastination with simple, repeatable habits, so big projects feel small, doable, and consistently finished. I want all my students to take confident ownership of their time and tasks, while families feel more calm, aligned, and proud of the steady progress they see.
Outside of improved grades, success to me also looks like:
One of the best wins for me is seeing students improve their emotional regulation and self-reflection skills which carry into friendships, family routines, and life outside school.
I believe growth happens when we keep moving through places, ideas, and routines. When I’m not helping students build systems that stick, I’m usually learning something new myself.
My Hobbies:
I’ve taught and traveled in 60+ countries and still carve out time to study languages (French now, Italian before). I love turning big goals into tiny daily habits, like a 15-minute language session or mapping a new city on foot, because small steps add up.
Fun Fact About Me:
One of the most off-the-beaten-path places I’ve visited is East Timor, where the tallest building I saw was three stories and locals asked me to take their photos. Experiences like that remind me to stay curious and meet people (and students) exactly where they are.
Choosing the right support for your child is a big decision.
A 60-minute Momentum Session (limited availability) is the best way to see if we’re the right fit. It’s a chance to experience our approach firsthand and discover how the right partnership can bring calm, confidence, and progress back to your family.
